GEOMECHANICS APPLIED TO THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY
DESIGNED FOR: Petroleum engineers, geological engineers, geologists, reservoir engineers, production engineers, mechanical engineers, chemical engineers, geophysical engineers or any other degree or related career of the oil industry that are directly or indirectly involved with the drilling, reservoir and production area.
OBJECTIVES: Know the geomechanics applications in the oil industry. Identify and understand the Oilfield information, and well-site logging data necessary to make a geomechanical study. Estimate pore pressures, fracture, overload, on-site stresses, mechanical properties, borehole collapse. Interpret conventional and special well-site loggings. Make decisions and study the feasibility of making a geomechanical study taking into account its impact on the operation of drilling, reservoir and production.
